The best way to good colon health is to eat the right foods at the right times. This article has some good advice about when to time your meals for maximum energy and for good digestion. Particularly important is the suggestion about eating before bed. Read on…

BREAKFAST: Actually it means, “breaking the fast” in two words. Our body is in a mild state of hypoglycemia or low blood sugar when we awake after spending 6-8 hours sleeping and we have the need to eat or drink something.

The first thing eaten should be fruit or fruit juice to immediately elevate the depressed blood sugar levels. Years ago in restaurants and in our grandmother’s kitchen there was such a thing as a juice glass which measured 4 ounces. Just enough to do the job.  Fruit juice that is pure and of high quality would be adequate as well as stewed fruits etc. though the fresh whole fruit would be best, in my opinion.

Next would be a major meal of your choice. Because you are about to do a day’s work and need the energy that the meal will provide, you want to eat a big hearty meal.

You can have your coffee, once you eat.Coffee drunk on an empty stomach irritates the liver causing nausea resulting in you not feeling like eating due to the nausea. Always drink coffee with food in the stomach.

LUNCH/DINNER: Dinner was the “old word” for lunch. This is still used in many areas of the US.  Lunch should also be a hearty meal full of foods that will provide energy and strength and again, keep that blood sugar elevated to normal.A good lunch prevents the afternoon slumps. To properly digest the meal and to enjoy the moment, it used to be that after lunch a one hour siesta or rest was taken. After a hearty lunch along with a one hour rest, you are ready to go back into your world refreshed, nourished and relaxed.

SUPPER: The “new word” for supper is dinner.  The word supper means “light evening meal”.  Light and as clean as possible and contain no or very little animal protein, this, the last meal of the day should be.  Unless you are going to do a days work afterwards you simply do not need a meal that is heavy. The supper meal prepares the body to shut down for the night.  It should be light and nutritious but not overpowering. Most importantly, nothing should be eaten for a minimum of 3 and preferably 5 hours before bedtime. The #1 reason of why people do not sleep well is eating late at night and eating meals that are way too heavy. Instead of shutting down, every system in their body is busy digesting and processing food that it does not need.

Even if we cannot apply all of this information into our daily lives, perhaps we can incorporate some of it.

Bowtrol Review Especially for Older Folk

I didn’t set out to write a Bowtrol review, I was simply searching for something, anything, to relieve my constipation. I’d tried all the usual stuff like laxatives and those fiber drinks that go all gluggy if you don’t drink them straight away.

I didn’t realize there was a product on the market that would actually heal my digestive system so that I wouldn’t have to keep taking it day after day. Using harsh laxatives can actually damage your digestive system’s ability to function on it’s own, making the problem worse. At best they are simply a “band aid” solution.

Anyway I found a Bowtrol review and decided, after much hesitation to try it. I can say without hesitation it’s one of the best decisions I have made for my health!

As we get older, some of the body systems don’t function as well as they should. Years of being subjected to chemicals in food for example can produce some health challenges in an older person. These chemical toxins can lodge in our tissues and remain there for years if not eliminated properly.

We can minimize chemical exposure in our food by choosing more carefully what we eat, but what about toxins in the air? We still have to breathe and if we live in an industrial area or near a main highway we’re breathing in these toxins day and night.

Don’t even get me started on intestinal parasites!

So this Bowtrol review is written for the older adult. It certainly won’t be the last one I write because I think when we find something really beneficial we almost have a moral obligation to pass it on. So here’s my message.

Bowtrol is a completely natural colon cleanse product. It flushes out chemicals, toxins, intestinal parasites and soothes and repairs the digestive system. It does this gently so you don’t experience debilitating cramps or days tied to the bathroom because you’re to afraid to leave the house. You will feel better because all you body systems work better if your elimination is working properly.

I am endlessly grateful to Bowtrol. Review it here to see for yourself.

No Need To Worry About Bowtrol Side Effects

I’m assuming you’ve decided on a colon cleanse to get rid of debilitating symptoms such as constipation and bloating. The reasons these symptoms exist is because there are toxic waste materials in your intestine which are causing them by slowing down the passage of waste in the colon and, even worse, the re-absorption of toxins by the colon in an attempt to get rid of them.

This means that the first time you do a cleanse with any colon cleanser some side effects are inevitable. Some of these wastes may have been sitting there for many years and your colon may also be home for unpleasant parasites as well.

If you have chosen Bowtrol for your colon cleanser, you’re in luck! There isn’t a colon cleanse product on the market more gentle than Bowtrol. Side effects may include fatigue, more bloating than usual and also headaches and possible cramping. These will not last long and they are just caused by the release of toxic matter from your body. So try and recognize it as a good sign!

However there are several things we can do to minimize these symptoms and, in the case of Bowtrol, you may not even notice them. Here are a few tips to minimize any Bowtrol side effects.

Drink plenty of water ~ This helps to flush out wastes. You can also include beverages such as green tea or herbal teas as well. Don’t drink any soft drinks however as these contain unwanted chemicals and we’re trying to get rid of these!

Exercise as much as possible ~ Preferably work up a sweat. Sweating is another channel for eliminating toxins and will take some of the load off the intestines. Some people don’t have the energy to do exercise while cleansing, however, and if this is you don’t push it.

Don’t eat too much ~ Also eat food that is as healthy as possible. The herbs in Bowtrol are trying to clean out old impacted waste and they do this a lot better when there is not a lot of new material passing through the digestive system. Soups and light foods are great. Forget heavy foods, such as meat, which are harder to digest.

Take a multivitamin ~ As you’re eating less, you may need to supplement your diet with a multi. Taking a probiotic formula is also a good idea as this will replace the beneficial intestinal flora which has been lost during the cleanse.

Pick a weekend ~ Just in case you do experience symptoms, it may be a good idea to do your cleanse over the weekend. Then you can return to work on Monday looking and feeling your best.

Enjoy yourself ~ Don’t sit around waiting for any Bowtrol side effects to strike. They may not even bother you! Indulge in hobbies that you enjoy and keep your mind off the cleanse. Whatever happens, realize that by detoxing your colon, you are doing something that’s very important for your health. You should feel proud of yourself!

You may think that poor colon health will only affect your digestion. You may have constipation and the odd stomach ache and, although you would like to get rid of these symptoms, you probably consider that its not that serious. However an unhealthy colon does a lot more damage that you are not aware of. It can lead to poor nutrition, because your foods not being absorbed properly, and serious health problems such as immune system damage. In fact a lot diseases today can be linked to poor colon health.

So what can we do about it without spending a fortune? There are basically two options. You can have a colon health cleanse, or you can adopt a colon health diet by eating colon cleansing foods such as fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Both options are of equal importance

How do you eat your fruit? Do you buy it in cans or dinky little plastic containers and store it in the pantry? Or do you buy it fresh but peel it because you’re worried about pesticide contamination? Perhaps you prefer to “drink” your fruit after it has been juiced? Not surprisingly none of these options are particularly healthy. Canned fruit can have the nutrients leached out during the canning process and also may contain sugar and preservatives. Peeled fruit loses a lot of nutrients which are found just under the peel.

Juicing fruit may seem like a good idea, but you are simply taking all the fiber from the fruit. Another problem is the large amount of fructose in fruit juice that doesn’t have the fiber to balance it.

The best answer is to obtain your fruit from the freshest source available, such as farmers markets. Wash it well and eat it straight away. Now you are receiving the cleansing qualities of fiber plus the vitamins and minerals that fresh fruits contain.

Did you know that you can eat a lot of vegetables raw? Simply wash them and cut them into small pieces and serve with a healthy dip. If this doesn’t appeal to you, its fine to lightly steam or even stir fry your vegetables. Be careful not to use the microwave as this can strip a lot of nutrients from them.

Vegetables are rich in fiber, vitamins and mineral and are also an important source of enzymes. Of course the enzymes can be destroyed by cooking so don’t cook them until they’re soggy! As with fruit, buy your vegetables from fresh sources, or you could always grow your own!

Cereals are our main source of carbohydrates and play an important part helping to keep the colon healthy. Cereals, particularly oats, contain soluble fiber that can help lower high cholesterol. Cereals are inexpensive and easily available, but don’t make the mistake of buying them laced with salt and sugar. Always check the package first.

So if you’re feeling tired and listless, suffer with constipation and headaches, I would recommend the following. First treat yourself to a safe and natural colon cleanse. This will cleanse you intestines of impacted toxic material and parasites straight away. Next follow the diet guidelines above. You’ll feel more healthy and energetic in no time. As a bonus you may even lose some weight, all without trying!
