Several of my close friends are aware that I have an interest in digestive well being. In discussion with a couple of of them this week, they asked me what I might do to ensure a really robust digestive system for myself. I found myself dumbfounded. I’ll explain why…

So what foods can be high in purines? Fish, meat, sweet meats, meat extracts etc. My problem is the fact that as soon as you eliminate foods which are bad for cholestoral and take away foods high in purine, there is a minimal amount I can eat! My challenge, and for individuals in a similar situation, is to program my diet carefully.

Subsequently there’s the issue of an efficient digestive system. An efficient digestive system, at least from my viewpoint, is one that extracts the nutritional value from the food we consume and effectively eliminates the waste elements which all of us do not need. If both of these systems is sub optimal in any way, then it would likely produce complications. By way of example, the speed at which our food moves through our digestive system is important for nutrient assimilation and constipation. If waste products move gradually by means of the digestive system then more moisture is taken out which stiffens the stools.

Ok why don’t we return to the original question. What precisely would I implement? I would like to state  an important point at this juncture. I am not a medical professional consequently am not qualified to provide medical advice. What I am about to say is a personal opinion based on my own knowledge and may not be appropriate for all. As I said earlier, we are all different and should make a plan that suits our own situation.

To begin with, I’d prepare my diet regime. I’d contemplate precisely what food items are beneficial for me and I would be sure that they are plentiful in my regimen. Fruit, vegetables, grains and unrefined cereals for instance. I might still feed on those items that I just love but are less than ideal for me but mainly in small quantities. I appreciate sweets such as condensed milk by way of example! I might then clean my intestines of any accrued toxic waste using a super colon cleanse. This would eliminate any fecal matter attached to my colon that can result in complications later on. After that I would add to my diet regime with quality probiotic yogurt. Probiotics supplements are essential due to the fact they add “good bacteria” to the digestive tract. Finally I would supplement with a regular multivitamin to ensure that any missing vitamins in my diet plan are accounted for.

Great digestive health is key to long life and general health.  Individuals may not go along with my way and that’s alright.  Even so, I believe that adhering to my guidelines could be a substantive advance for nearly everybody.
